About NexGen Staffing
NexGen Staffing is an enterprise-grade staffing firm headquartered in Mumbai with operations across six Indian cities. Founded in 2012, the company employs over 200 people including 120 recruiters, and manages a contractor workforce of 3,500+ professionals deployed at client sites. Their client portfolio spans IT services, banking, telecom, and manufacturing sectors.
Despite their scale, NexGen had struggled to win vendor empanelments with Tier-1 IT services companies. In 2024, they lost bids with two major IT firms, with feedback citing lack of technology differentiation and inconsistent candidate evaluation methodologies.
The Challenge
In Q1 2025, NexGen learned that TCS was evaluating vendors for a large-scale staffing partnership covering Java, .NET, SAP, and Cloud roles across four cities. The contract was valued at INR 8.5 crore annually — a transformative opportunity for NexGen. However, the vendor evaluation criteria had evolved significantly from previous years.
TCS required vendors to demonstrate: AI-powered candidate screening capabilities with documented evaluation methodology, standardized assessment frameworks that ensured consistent quality across locations, DPDPA-compliant data handling with audit trails for all candidate information, and real-time reporting dashboards accessible to TCS hiring managers.
NexGen's existing process — spreadsheet-based tracking, manual resume screening, and phone-based technical assessments — fell far short of these requirements. Without a technology platform that met TCS's criteria, their proposal would be eliminated in the first round.
The Solution
NexGen fast-tracked a CVPRO Enterprise deployment, working with the CVPRO team on a tailored implementation plan designed to address TCS's specific vendor evaluation criteria.
AI Evaluation as Proof of Methodology: CVPRO's 42-point AI evaluation engine became the cornerstone of NexGen's proposal. Each candidate evaluation generated a detailed Fitment Report documenting skills assessed, scores across technical and behavioral dimensions, role-match analysis, and confidence levels. These reports provided TCS with the standardized, auditable evaluation methodology they required.
QBank for Scalable Technical Assessment: QBank AI Interviews were configured with TCS-specific technical assessment criteria across all four required technology stacks. This demonstrated NexGen's ability to conduct consistent, high-volume technical evaluations without bottlenecking on human interviewers. The system could process 500+ candidate assessments per month with zero variance in evaluation standards.
Vendor Portal & Client Dashboard: CVPRO's client portal was configured to give TCS hiring managers direct visibility into candidate pipelines, evaluation scores, and submission status. Real-time analytics dashboards showed fill rates, time-to-submit, and quality metrics — exactly the kind of transparency TCS demanded from their vendor partners.
DPDPA Compliance: CVPRO's built-in DPDPA compliance framework — including consent management, data retention policies, candidate data portability, and audit logging — was documented in NexGen's proposal. This was a significant differentiator, as most competing vendors could not demonstrate compliance with India's data protection regulations.
The Results
NexGen's proposal scored 91 out of 100 in TCS's vendor evaluation — the highest among all 12 bidding firms. They secured the INR 8.5 crore annual contract, the largest in their company history. The TCS evaluation committee specifically cited CVPRO's AI evaluation reports and DPDPA compliance as key differentiators.
Within the first quarter of the partnership, NexGen processed over 1,500 candidates through CVPRO for TCS mandates, maintaining a candidate evaluation consistency of plus or minus 8% variance (down from 35% with manual processes). The compliance audit score improved from 72% to 96%, satisfying TCS's quarterly vendor review requirements.
The TCS win had a ripple effect on NexGen's business. Two additional Tier-1 clients initiated vendor discussions after learning about NexGen's AI-powered evaluation capabilities. The company has since onboarded Infosys and Tech Mahindra as clients, growing their enterprise staffing revenue by 180% year-over-year.
