About PrimeHire Consulting
PrimeHire Consulting is a boutique IT staffing firm founded in 2019 in Pune, Maharashtra. With a lean team of 15 recruiters, PrimeHire carved out a niche in placing hard-to-find talent in Data Engineering, Machine Learning, AI Research, and Cloud Architecture roles. Their client roster includes product companies, funded startups, and R&D divisions of enterprise firms across Pune, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
Known for their deep domain expertise and high-touch candidate engagement, PrimeHire had built a reputation for quality over volume. Candidates placed by PrimeHire had a 94% six-month retention rate — nearly double the industry average.
The Challenge
By mid-2025, PrimeHire was a victim of their own success. Client demand had tripled, with active mandates growing from 15 to 45 per month. However, their team of 15 could only realistically process 50 candidates per month while maintaining their quality standards. Hiring more recruiters was not straightforward — niche tech recruiting requires domain expertise that takes 6-12 months to develop.
The bottleneck was particularly acute for emerging roles. When a client needed an MLOps engineer or a Kafka streaming architect, PrimeHire recruiters spent hours evaluating whether candidates truly had the depth required. False positives — candidates who looked good on paper but lacked real expertise — were costly, damaging client trust and wasting interview slots.
Sneha Deshpande, the founder, faced a strategic decision: either turn away business and risk losing clients to larger competitors, or find a way to scale throughput without sacrificing the quality that defined their brand.
The Solution
PrimeHire adopted CVPRO Professional (INR 4,900/month per recruiter) with a specific focus on using AI to handle volume while keeping human expertise for relationship building and final evaluation.
Smart Screening Pipeline: All incoming candidate applications were processed through CVPRO's AI Evaluation engine. For niche roles, the team configured custom evaluation criteria — for example, a Data Engineer role would weight Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow experience higher than generic Python skills. The 42-point AI assessment provided recruiters with a pre-scored shortlist, eliminating 70% of initial screening work.
Technical Depth Validation: QBank AI Interviews became PrimeHire's secret weapon for niche roles. Custom question banks were configured for each specialization — distributed systems design for Cloud Architects, feature engineering scenarios for ML Engineers, and pipeline orchestration challenges for Data Engineers. Candidates completed these assessments asynchronously, and recruiters received detailed competency breakdowns before ever picking up the phone.
Branded Candidate Presentation: Super Resume generation ensured every candidate submitted to clients had a consistent, professional presentation that matched PrimeHire's premium positioning. AI-generated summaries highlighted relevant project experience and technical depth, while the branded template reinforced PrimeHire's identity.
The Results
Six months after deployment, PrimeHire had quadrupled their monthly candidate throughput from 50 to 200 without adding a single recruiter. The cost per placement dropped by 61%, from INR 18,500 to INR 7,200, as recruiter time was redirected from screening to placement activities.
The niche role fill rate — the percentage of mandates successfully closed — nearly doubled from 34% to 67%. Average time-to-fill dropped from 28 days to 11 days. Most impressively, quarterly revenue grew from INR 42 lakhs to INR 1.1 crore, a 162% increase driven entirely by improved capacity and efficiency.
PrimeHire retained their boutique identity throughout. Candidate retention rates remained above 90%, and NPS scores from both clients and candidates improved. The firm has since expanded to 22 recruiters and plans to open a Bangalore office in 2026.
